ABSTRACT

Histiocytosis X is a disease with unclarified etiology. Pathomorphological characteristic of the disease is based on formation of unique granulomas which affect various organs and tissues. Lung involvement can procced in an asymptomic manner. Typical symptoms of pulmonary histiocytosis X are: labored breathing, nonproductive cough, tiredness and/or pleuritic chest pain, sudden spontaneous pneumothoraxes might develop in some patients. Death might proceed after few months.
