ABSTRACT

Background: Patient satisfaction is accepted as a criterion in the evaluation of nursing care, it’s important to know the factors affecting satisfaction.
Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the satisfaction of older adult patients with orthopaedic surgery and factors affecting.
Methods: This descriptive study was conducted with 135 patients who underwent orthopaedics surgery. Data were collected using Patient identification form and Newcastle Satisfaction with Nursing Scales. Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis H tests and correlation analysis were performed.
Results: The mean score of the patients on the Newcastle Satisfaction with Nursing Scale was determined to be 83.5 ± 15.5. It was found that the mean score of the patients on the Newcastle Nursing Care Satisfaction Scale varied according to the companion support and socioeconomic status (p <0.05). 
Conclusion: It was determined that older adult patients who underwent orthopaedic surgery had a good level of satisfaction with nursing care.
