Peer Review Process

The Journal of Clinical Medicine of Kazakhstan encourages the provision of material from authors all over the world. All manuscripts if found suitable will undergo the double-blind peer-review process. Manuscripts will be judged at least by two experts exclusively based on their contribution to initial data, ideas, and their scientific fields. All articles should correspond with instructions for authors.

Following articles will be considered for publication:

  • Editorial articles,
  • Review articles,
  • Original articles,
  • Case reports,
  • Short communications,
  • Letters to the editor.

Currently we do not consider Special issues or Supplement issues to be published in our journal.

Submitted new manuscripts must not have been published, accepted for publication, or be under consideration elsewhere. Authors must submit their manuscripts via an online submission system according to journal requirements. Manuscripts submitted/sent by email or by postal mail will not be considered. All articles submitted to the Journal must comply with these instructions. Failure to do so will result in a return of the manuscript and a possible delay in publication. Detailed information, “how-to submit manuscript” is available in the section Instruction for authors.

Plagiarism screening: All received manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening by iThenticate software.  We will allow only 15-20% similarity, however, the verbatim copies of strings of text at the sentence, paragraph, or section level are not allowed. If the similarity score is above the 20%, the editor may investigate the plagiarism report and give feedback to authors with a request for adjustments.

First decision: All articles will be strictly considered by the editor(s) and members of the editorial board for 6-8 weeks, but sometimes there can be long delays. Authors can refer to resources of information according to standard requirements for publications, presented in biomedical journals, prepared by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors.

Submission of revised manuscripts: While submitting a revised manuscript, contributors are requested to include a point-to-point response to the reviewer's comments at the beginning of the revised manuscript text file itself. In addition, if any changes are made to the manuscript, please mark the changes as underlined or differently colored text in the article.

Page proofs: Page proofs of the manuscript, a form for marking corrections, and instructions for filling the form will be sent to the corresponding author by e-mail, before the publication of the manuscript. Authors should type the proof corrections in the form and send it to the Editorial Office. While checking the proofs, take note that the text is complete and all figures and tables are included in the proofs. Respond to all queries from the Editorial Office; check the proofs for changes like spellings, punctuation, and setting of the text, tables, figures, and figure legends. Corrected proofs must be returned to the Editorial office within 72 hrs (3 days) of receipt. The page proofs can be sent to the Editorial Office by uploading through our website or as email attachments with indicated manuscript ID.
