Peer Review Process

The Journal of Clinical Medicine of Kazakhstan welcomes submissions from authors worldwide. All submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Manuscripts are judged by at least two experts based on their originality, contribution to the initial data and scientific fields. All submissions must follow the instructions for authors.

The following types of articles are considered for publication:

  • Editorial articles,
  • Review articles,
  • Original articles,
  • Case reports,
  • Short communications,
  • Letters to the editor.

At this time, we do not publish special or supplement issues.

Newly submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published, accepted for publication, or under consideration elsewhere. Authors should submit their manuscripts through an online submission system according to journal guidelines. Manuscripts sent by email or postal mail will not be accepted. All articles submitted to the journal must follow these instructions. Failing to do so may result in the return of the manuscript and possible delay in publication. For more information on how to submit a manuscript, please refer to the "Instruction for authors" section.

Plagiarism screening: All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening using iThenticate software. We will allow up to 15-20% similarity, but verbatim copies of text strings at the sentence, paragraph, or section levels will not be permitted. If the similarity score exceeds 20%, the editor may review the plagiarism report and provide feedback to the author with suggestions for revisions.

First decision: All papers will be carefully reviewed by the editor(s) and members of the editorial board within 6-8 weeks. However, there may be longer delays. Authors are encouraged to refer to standard guidelines for publication in biomedical journals prepared by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors for information resources.

Submission of revised manuscripts: When submitting a revised version of your manuscript, we ask that you include a point-by-point response to the reviewers' comments at the beginning of the text file. In addition, please note any changes you have made to the manuscript by underlining or highlighting them in a different color.

Page proofs: Page proofs of the manuscript, a form for marking corrections, and instructions for filling out the form will be sent to the corresponding author via e-mail before the publication of the manuscript. The author should type the corrected proofs on the form and submit it to the editorial office. While reviewing the proofs, please ensure that the text is complete, all figures and tables are present in the proofs, and respond to any queries from the editorial team. Check the proofs for spelling, punctuation, formatting of text, tables, figures, and figure captions. Corrected proofs should be returned to the editorial office within 72 hours (3 days) of receiving them. Page proofs can be submitted to the editorial office by uploading them through our website or attaching them as email attachments, indicating the manuscript ID.
