Journal History

The Journal of Clinical Medicine of Kazakhstan was founded in 2004 by the National Scientific Medical Research Center in Astana, Kazakhstan, and was registered by the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan on April 5, 2004. It is indexed in the list of scientific journals approved by the Committee for Control of Education and Science under the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan for the publication of scientific research results.

Until 2013, the editorial and publishing process was conducted through the submission of hard copies of papers, and all published issues were stored only in national and local libraries. However, beginning in 2013 (volume 4, number 30, 2013 issue), the editorial and publishing process has been transferred to an electronic double-blind peer review system. Since then, all accepted manuscripts have been available in the archive of the journal’s website, including regular and special issues.

From 2016 (volume 1, number 39, issue 2016), the Journal of Clinical Medicine of Kazakhstan has been a member of The Publishers International Linking Association (PILA), and all regular and some special issues have been deposited in CrossRef with DOI numbers.

Starting from 2020, the journal publishes bimonthly, only in English, with six issues per year.
